BUDWEISER LEGENDS CLUB INTERNSHIP

Budweiser Legends Club is located inside TD Garden and is a private, members-only sports club where guests can enjoy the memories of Boston's best with an upscale, yet relaxed atmosphere.

Your Role: Assist the Legends coordinator with game day operations for both Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics events. Setup member check-in tables and monitor access to the club prior to and throughout each event. Assist members and guests when issues/questions come up. All other duties assigned by Legends Club Coordinator.

Our Expectations: Must be available to work Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics home games. This internship is unpaid and you must be able to receive college credit.


HUMAN RESOURCES INTERNSHIP

Your Role: As an intern in Human Resources, you will learn the many facets of recruiting, retention, and HR law and compliance in a high-paced, high-volume environment!

Our Expectations: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general administrative support, job postings, schedule paperwork appointments with new hires and implement paperwork session, research and develop partnerships to enhance recruitment efforts, and assist in the development of intern events, Intern Orientation, intern recruitment, and future internship programs. Ability to work a flexible schedule required.


MARKETING INTERNSHIP

Marketing interns at TD Garden have a diverse range of responsibilities. These responsibilities start with general office work, such as photocopying, faxing, data entry, and mass mailing; however, it will lead into more specific projects such as public relations plans, recap documents and clip books, marketing plans and media buys.

Interns are responsible for monitoring the media placements for information pertinent to the TD Garden, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics as well as any other concerts and family shows on a daily basis. Interns also assist in the community relations department, processing ticket and donation requests through the non-profit organization, Garden Neighborhood Charities. They are also depended upon to oversee print and radio trade for upcoming events. Interns often research upcoming events and assist with promotions relating to specific events. Other duties as assigned.


PREMIUM CLUB SALES INTERNSHIP

Welcome to the fun and exciting world of being an arena sales intern. If you are looking to break away from the norm and work in an action packed environment that is different every day of the week, the Garden is the place for you. Responsibilities include:

In The Premium Club - You will assist with the sales processes and strategies for TD Garden by developing new ideas and creating new and innovative ways of selling the Premium products. This may require you to distribute marketing information and follow up with prospective clients to maximize products' exposure. You will provide direct support to the Premium Club Coordinator in developing and maintaining client lists, contact information, sales goals, sales figures, and all other data consistent with optimizing strategic goals and initiatives.

Group Mailings - There are many occasions during the course of the sales season that we send out direct mail for a wide assortment of shows, and to a wide assortment of people.

Office Support - Make runs to and from the Box Office for the Premium Club Sales Staff. Head outside and into the great wide open to pick up packages at local suppliers, or deliver tickets to various companies in and around Boston.

Database Maintenance - Help us better serve our customers by learning more about them. Make calls to update lists, or jump on-line and discover new ways to allow us to reach our consumers.

Assist on the Play - Just like the teams who play in the Garden you may be asked from time to time to help out another department, or perhaps even the President's Office. Jobs can range from serving dinner to the homeless as part of the "Garden Neighborhood Charities" Table of Friends, to escorting a Disney on Ice character at a local hospital visit.

These are just a few of the things a Garden and Premium Club Sales Intern can experience while learning from us each day. One of the great advantages about this industry is that it is always changing. Each night is a new event, filled with the promise of a new outcome. BOSTONBRUINS.COM INTERNSHIP

The BostonBruins.com Internship is a position that works with the Bruins Content Manager at BostonBruins.com, within the Bruins Communications Department. Interns will gain experience working on the Public Relations side of sports writing. Essential duties are as follows:
  • Authoring game stories, news stories and feature stories for BostonBruins.com and the Bruins Gameday Program.
  • Acting as a producer during the in-game live blogs. This includes watching away games on NESN to help with the production of the in-game live blogs.
  • Recording interviews on a mini-camera for use on the Boston Bruins TV website as well as distribution to local television stations.
  • Transcribing coach and player interviews for distribution to local media.
  • Assisting the Communications staff in gameday media operations during Boston Bruins home games.
  • Other duties as assigned.
This is a writing-intensive position as prospective candidates will publish stories on the Boston Bruins website and should possess strong writing backgrounds. Candidates must be organized, responsible, punctual and have flexible schedules to work some nights and all Bruins home games during the time of the internship. This internship is required to work all home games at TD Garden. Strongly prefer those candidates with more availability and those that are located in Boston until the end of June 2010.

BOSTON BRUINS COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP

Your Role: The Boston Bruins Communications Internship is a position that fulfills a variety of roles within the Bruins Communications Department. Interns will gain experience working in the Public Relations, Media Relations, and Communications aspects of the department. Essential duties are as follows:
  • Compiling press clippings for distribution to Bruins management and coaching staff
  • Compiling stat packets for distribution to Bruins management and coaching staff
  • Authoring feature stories for the Boston Bruins website, bostonbruins.com
  • Assisting in the gameday media operations for all Boston Bruins home games
  • Coordinating interviews between members of the local and national media and Bruins players
  • Transcribing coach and player interviews for distribution to local media
  • Working with the Bruins Communications staff to create and develop pitches to publicize the Bruins players, staff and organization
  • Assisting in the media operations of the NHL Draft including research of prospects and drafted players, coordinating interviews with drafted players, authoring biographies of drafted players and authoring feature stories on bostonbruins.com (Summer only)
  • Assisting in the media operations of the Bruins Development Camp - a week-long camp for Bruins prospects and draft picks. This will include coordinating interviews with players and local/national media, authoring biographies of attendees, transcribing coach and player interviews after practices and authoring feature stories on bostonbruins.com (Summer only)

BOSTON BRUINS PHOTOGRAPHY INTERNSHIP

Your Role: The Photography Internship candidate should have a strong interest in sports and producing outstanding work. Interns will gain experience working with the Community Relations, Marketing/Promotions, and Bruins Foundation departments. They will be working with team photographer to shoot, edit, caption and upload all Bruins photos.

Our Expectations: Photography major with a strong focus in photojournalism or commercial work. A strong understanding of the complete process of today's digital photography-shooting, captioning, editing and uploading. This includes, but is not limited to, shooting RAW, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Aperture, PhotoMechanic. Experience shooting on deadline with a reputable wire service such as Getty, US Presswire, Icon & AP is a plus as well as previous work history for a SID office at a college/university. Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Customer service oriented and excellent executive presence. Availability for long hours, weekends, and holidays. Interns will work all Bruins home games as well as events during time of the internship. Must be a currently enrolled student and able to earn college credit for the internship. All internships are unpaid.

Please present a web based portfolio showcasing your best photographic work. Please do not email photos. Not all work needs to be sports related, as we would like to see other types of photographic work, e.g. commercial, portraits, architectural, etc. Please also provide at least 2 references that may be past instructors. References should know you and your work. Each reference should provide a reference letter detailing why they think you would be a great fit for the photographic internship.

BOSTON BRUINS YOUTH HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT
    Responsibilities:
  • Assist Youth Hockey Development staff with daily activities and projects.
  • Contribute to the development and coordination of Youth Hockey programs.
  • Assist on and off ice with clinics, programs and activities.
  • Create marketing plans to promote Youth Hockey initiatives.
  • Develop promotional ideas and events for current and potential Boston Bruins Youth Hockey strategies and sponsors.
  • Assist in scheduling and organization the Boston Bruins NHL Street program.
  • Manage Youth Hockey information table during ALL Bruins home games.
  • Keep a comprehensive record of events and media clips that cover Boston Bruins Youth Hockey events.
  • Assist with booking youth hockey events, fundraisers and on-ice activities
  • Attend and contribute to all Boston Bruins special events.
  • Manage Youth Hockey Department contacts database.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Compensation and Requirements:
  • Internships offered by the Boston Bruins are non-compensated. All interns must receive college credit.
  • All interns must provide documentation from their college or university stating the number of hours obligated to work and verifying receipt of college credit.
  • Before the start of each internship period, all interns must read, agree to and submit a signed copy of the Boston Bruins Internship Agreement contract.
  • All interns are required to lift (25) pounds and perform some manual labor.
  • All interns are required to perform at least (2) appearances as Blades, the Boston Bruins mascot.
  • Interns are required to work all game days and major team events.
